You don't have to wait until the end

After an accident or mistake, costs often pile up in silence. The first bills arrive, part of your salary is lost, and meanwhile, the case with the insurer drags on. That feels unfair, because you did not cause the damage. The good news is that you usually do not have to wait until everything is definitively settled. As soon as the opposing party (partially) acknowledges your damages, we can request an advance payment on your behalf. This way, you receive a portion of your compensation now, exactly when you need it. You are in a stronger position than you think, and we ensure that you do not get into unnecessary trouble while we continue to fight for your full compensation.
We'll take care of it

You keep your head above water, we do the rest

You do not have to conduct the conversation about money with the insurer yourself. Your dedicated contact person knows your file and knows exactly which costs and loss of income are involved. We substantiate your advance payment request with figures and facts, and keep the pressure on until the payout is actually made. Our assistance is completely free of charge for you: the liable insurer pays our costs pursuant to Article 6:96 of the Dutch Civil Code. You will never receive a bill from us and keep 100% of your compensation. Do you need money again after an initial advance? Then we simply apply for an additional advance. This way, you remain financially afloat throughout the entire process, without having to face it alone.

What is an advance payment?

An advance payment is an amount that the liable insurer pays to you in anticipation of the final settlement of your compensation. Personal injury cases can take months or sometimes years, because the exact extent of your total damages only becomes clear at the end. Consider the recovery that still needs to take shape, or the question of how your income will develop in the longer term. In the meantime, your expenses continue as usual.

An advance bridges that period. You receive a portion of the money you are entitled to during the process, so you do not have to wait for the finish line. It is therefore not an extra or separate amount, but an advance payment on your final compensation.

Why an advance payment is important

An injury often affects your entire life, and almost always your wallet as well. You may be unable to work temporarily or for a longer period, causing your income to drop. At the same time, new costs are added: deductibles, physiotherapy, household help, adapted transport, or travel expenses to doctors.

Without an advance payment, you would have to front all these costs yourself, even though the damage is not your fault. This can lead to payment arrears, stress, and in the worst case, debt. An advance prevents that. It gives you financial peace of mind, so you can focus on what really matters: your recovery. And it ensures that you do not have to agree to a settlement that is too low under pressure, simply because you need the money now.

For which costs do you use an advance payment?

  • Loss of income because you are (partially) unable to work;
  • Medical costs such as deductible, treatments, and medical aids;
  • Domestic help and adaptations in and around your home;
  • Travel and transport expenses to the hospital, doctor, or therapist.
We map out all your damage

When can you get an advance?

The most important condition is that liability has been acknowledged. As soon as the opposing party or their insurer has (partially) acknowledged responsibility for your damage, an advance payment can be requested. It is therefore wise to hold the other party liable, as this opens the door to an advance payment.

Good to know: a partial acknowledgment is often sufficient. For example, if the insurer acknowledges 70% liability, an advance payment can be made for that portion while negotiations regarding the remainder are still ongoing. The stronger your case and the more clearly your costs are substantiated, the greater the chance of a quick payout. We ensure that.

How we apply for an advance payment for you

Applying for an advance payment is not something you do on a whim; solid substantiation makes all the difference. That is why we handle this for you in a structured manner, as an integral part of our working method.

Step by step

  • Together with you, we map out the costs you have incurred and the income you have missed out on;
  • We collect the evidence: payslips, invoices, receipts, and medical documents;
  • We submit a substantiated request to the insurer on your behalf;
  • We are negotiating the amount and maintaining pressure until the sum is actually transferred.

Your dedicated contact person keeps you informed every step of the way. Because we know exactly which arguments and amounts are reasonable, we prevent the insurer from fobbing you off with an advance payment that is too low.

Are advances offset?

Yes. An advance payment is a prepayment, not a separate extra. At the end of your case, your total damages will be definitively determined. The amounts you previously received as an advance payment will then be offset against that final settlement.

A calculation example: suppose your total damages are ultimately determined to be 30,000 euros and you have already received 10,000 euros in advances during the process. You will then receive the remaining 20,000 euros upon final settlement. You therefore receive exactly what you are entitled to, only spread over time. And should you need money again during the process? We can always apply for an additional advance.

Don't be stuck with your costs

You don't have to stand by helplessly watching the bills pile up. If your damage was caused by someone else, you shouldn't have to bear the financial burden while the case is ongoing. An advance gives you the breathing room to recover without financial worries.

We handle the entire application for you, free of charge and based on Art. 6:96 BW. You will never receive a bill and keep 100% of your compensation. Would you like to know what we can do for you? Schedule a no-obligation appointment or contact us directly. We will call you back the same business day. You are stronger than you think.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good to know about the advance on your compensation

When can I receive an advance on my personal injury compensation?
As soon as liability has been (partially) acknowledged by the opposing party or their insurer, an advance payment may be requested. A partial acknowledgment is often sufficient: an amount can then be paid out immediately for that acknowledged portion, while negotiations regarding the remainder are still ongoing.
What exactly is an advance payment?
An advance payment is an amount that the insurer pays out in anticipation of your final compensation. Because a personal injury case can take a long time, this helps you bridge the period during which your costs continue and your income may have decreased. It is therefore an advance payment on your final compensation.
Do I have to repay an advance later?
No, you do not pay it back. However, an advance payment is offset against the final compensation at the end of your case. For example, if you received an advance of 10,000 euros and your total damages are determined to be 30,000 euros, you will receive the remaining 20,000 euros upon settlement.
Can I apply for an advance payment multiple times?
Yes. If your case takes longer and you need funds again in the meantime, we can apply for an additional advance. This ensures you remain financially afloat throughout the entire process, even if recovery or negotiations take longer than expected.
Does applying for an advance cost me anything?
No. Our assistance is completely free of charge for you. The liable insurer pays our costs pursuant to Article 6:96 of the Dutch Civil Code. You will never receive a bill from us and will keep 100% of your compensation, including any interim advances.
How do you apply for an advance payment for me?
Together, we map out your costs and loss of income, gather evidence such as payslips and invoices, and submit a substantiated request to the insurer on your behalf. We then negotiate the amount and maintain pressure until the sum is actually transferred.
